University Laboratory Aid
Supporting UK Organisations Achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2050

As carbon footprint reduction is now compulsory for UK organisations.

UNIVERSITY LABORATORY AID

We are a community interest organisation providing support to reduce greenhouse emission as well as carbon capture & storage.

Our Mission

Our core mission is to support UK universities & the NHS to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2050 at subsidized costs.

Secondly, we support research laboratories in developing countries by redeploying redundant laboratory equipment from UK laboratories to resource poor sub-Saharan Africa institutions.

Carbon Foot Print Reduction

We offer UK organisations highly subsidized carbon foot print reduction consultancy. UNILAB supports and guides her clients to set out a programme of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission-reduction strategies.

Medical Equipment Decommissioning

UNILAB renders decommission (dismantling and removal) of redundant medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly manner that is legally compliant.

Carbon Capture & Storage

UNILAB provides technical solutions to capture & store carbon, stopping it from entering into the atmosphere. We deliver consultancy services and training in Carbon Capture and Storage for industry-oriented projects.

Equipment Refurbishment & Redeployment

We refurbish redundant UK medical & laboratory equipment and redeploy them to Africa, thereby supporting research laboratories in sub-Saharan Africa with desperately needed laboratory equipment.

With net zero carbon target by 2050, carbon reduction is now compulsory for companies.

UNILAB supports UK universities & the NHS to reduce their carbon foot print to achieve net zero carbon by 2050.

Our Programmes

We are a non-profit company supporting UK organisations to achieve net zero carbon by 2050 through various programmes part of which is to decommission, refurbish and redeploy redundant UK laboratory equipment to sub-Saharan African institutions.

Winning formula – reduction in carbon emissions with simultaneous increase in the capture of CO2 from the atmosphere

Theresa May signed into law the UK’s ground-breaking target of hitting net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Net zero‘ means that any emissions are balanced by absorbing an equivalent amount from the atmosphere.

We strengthen sub-Saharan Africa research institutions through providing them with desperately needed laboratory equipment.

UNILAB supports Africa medical research institutions through providing them with desperately needed laboratory consumables.

At UNILAB we refurbish decommissioned medical and pharmaceutical equipment, ensuring they are in good state before redeployment.

UNILABAID: For Smart & Zero Carbon Labs

We offer UK organisations subsidized carbon foot print reduction consultancy.

We offer highly subsidized carbon footprint reduction consultancy & support UK organisations to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2050.

Our services in CCS provide technical solutions to capture CO2 & store carbon, thereby stopping CO2 from escaping into the atmosphere. We also deliver training in CCS.

We decommission, refurbish & redeploy redundant UK medical & laboratory equipment to support African institutions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by an organisation, a product or any activity, expressed in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Taking inference on best policies, technologies and proactive actions emerging around, we are able support organisations develop policies and strategies to achieve Carbon Footprint Reduction and possibly improve their profit.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is the process of capturing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) before it is released into the atmosphere. The CCS technology aims to capture up to 90% of CO2 released by via activity or process.

Our services in CCS provide technical solutions to capture CO2 & store carbon, thereby stopping CO2 from escaping into the atmosphere.

The goals of Equipment Refurbishment & Redeployment initiative are two fold;

  1. To extend the shelf life of redundant equipment as this reduces carbon foot print
  2. To support and strengthen sub-Saharan Africa researcher institutions through providing them with desperately needed laboratory equipment. We also engage the research institutions to embrace environmentally friendly policies and practices that minimise greenhouse emission.

Equipment Decommissioning (ED) is a general term that covers the processes involved in removing an equipment from active status or operation. ED can take place as a result of routine maintenance or a precursor to putting the equipment into storage, disposal or demolition.

We engage all the necessary procedures to ensure a legally compliant equipment decommissioning some of which includes documentation, insurance and contract considerations as well as consideration of interfaces with other equipment and site utilities. Our ED procedures also covers process and operational management and very critically Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance.
