medical Equipment Decommissioning

UNILAB Equipment Decommissioning

Equipment Decommissioning (ED) is a general term that covers the processes involved in removing an equipment from active status or operation. ED can take place as a result of routine maintenance or a precursor to putting the equipment into storage, disposal or demolition.

We engage all the necessary procedures to ensure a legally compliant equipment decommissioning some of which includes documentation, insurance and contract considerations as well as consideration of interfaces with other equipment and site utilities.

Why Choose Us?

UNILAB renders decommission (dismantling and removal) of redundant medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly manner that is legally compliant.

Our ED procedures also covers process and operational management and very critically Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support UK organisations &  companies to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2050 at very subsidized costs.

Secondly, we support research laboratories in developing countries by redeploying redundant laboratory equipment from UK laboratories to resource poor sub-Saharan Africa institutions.

Our Focus

Carbon foot print and green house gas emission reduction is our focus.

We believe that we all have an obligation to protect our environment for the benefit of future generation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by an organisation, a product or any activity, expressed in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Taking inference on best policies, technologies and proactive actions emerging around, we are able support organisations develop policies and strategies to achieve Carbon Footprint Reduction and possibly improve their profit.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is the process of capturing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) before it is released into the atmosphere. The CCS technology aims to capture up to 90% of CO2 released by via activity or process.

Our services in CCS provide technical solutions to capture CO2 & store carbon, thereby stopping CO2 from escaping into the atmosphere.

The goals of Equipment Refurbishment & Redeployment initiative are two fold;

  1. To extend the shelf life of redundant equipment as this reduces carbon foot print
  2. To support and strengthen sub-Saharan Africa researcher institutions through providing them with desperately needed laboratory equipment. We also engage the research institutions to embrace environmentally friendly policies and practices that minimise greenhouse emission.
